Welcome to Blind Services Foundation of Florida, Inc.

Blindness and vision impairment cost more than $4 billion annually in benefits and lost income. Properly diagnosed, treated and trained, the visually impaired have a wealth of capabilities that contribute to society.

Nearly everyone with blindness or vision impairment can benefit from rehabilitative treatment. With proper assistance, many of those who are currently dependent upon others can find gainful employment and enjoy the confidence of self-sufficiency.

Greetings from Ted Hull, Chairman of the Board

On behalf of the Board of Directors, I want to welcome you to the web site of the Blind Services Foundation of Florida, Inc.

The Foundation is an independent 501c3 Not-for-Profit Corporation, created by the Florida Legislature in 2004 and incorporated in the State of Florida on December 10, 2004.

Our purpose is to serve as a Direct Support Organization to the Florida Division of Blind Services  and people of Florida who are blind.

The Foundation is organized and operated to receive proceeds from the Biker’s Care license tags; to raise funds; request and receive grants, gifts and bequests; and to manage the assets of the Foundation.

Funds of the Foundation are used to support programs of the Division of Blind Services; and to conduct programs and activities, and initiate developmental projects for the benefit of citizens of Florida who are blind.

The Board of Directors  includes leaders in the blind and visually impaired community and serve as non-paid volunteers.  Three meetings each year, as well as committee meetings, are conducted via teleconference.  All of our meetings are open to the public and are advertised on this web site and at the Florida Administrative Weekly

Feel free to also view our budget and Board Meeting Minutes.

If you are a Biker, we hope you will consider purchasing the Biker’s Care Tag. The Foundation receives a portion of the revenues from each plate sold.

If you wish to donate or make a bequest to the Blind Services Foundation of Florida, Inc., select the donate tab or contact any other member of the Board.

If you or someone you know might like to be considered as a prospective member of our Board of Directors, contact Ted Hull via email at thull10@tampabay.rr.com, or by phone, (813) 251-9245.

Again, thank you for visiting our web site.  If you are a biker, we hope you will consider purchasing a Florida Bikers Care Tag. And for any of our visitors, we are always pleased to accept your tax-free charitable donation.

 Best regards,

Ted Hull, Chairman of the Board of Directors
